Genesis
Fairfax Fine Jewelry is a leading jewelry retailer specializing in fine designer jewelry, diamond jewelry, and estate jewelry. The genesis of the jewelry business starts with my other business, Penny Pincher Coins, where we have been buying estate jewelry since 2011. A dedicated jewelry store gives me the opportunity to display heirloom quality designer jewelry alongside our estate jewelry. My mission is to help people by purchasing their estate jewelry, which turns an illiquid asset into liquid cash.

We offer a curated selection of new designer jewelry and estate jewelry that we hope will become your family heirlooms. We go to market searching for artisan quality gold jewelry to which we can give voice. If you are tired of the same old mall jewelry, please come give our collection a look.
As a licensed and bonded dealer of estate jewelry, it is our mission to be fair to both sides of the transaction. We want to provide a fair offer to the seller as well as be able to offer a good price to the prospective buyer. Each piece of jewelry we purchase goes through an intensive inspection and verification process. Then it goes to the bench where it is cleaned, polished, and any repairs are made. We stand by the quality and authenticity of every piece we sell for 6 months. If there is a problem, please bring it back so we can fix it.
Our Founder
Mr. Shea started Penny Pincher Coins in a spare bedroom in 2007. Since then, it has gone on to be one of the largest coin and bullion dealers in the area. After COVID, we decided that the estate jewelry business needed a dedicated space and that we would like to carry fine designer jewelry not seen at national retailers. In the summer of 2024, we renovated the Main Street location with a separate jewelry store. In May 2026, we re-branded the jewelry store to Fairfax Fine Jewelry. Prior to this, Mr. Shea held roles in capital markets and banking consulting with Ernst & Young, E*Trade Financial, HSBC Auto Finance, Capital One Financial, Bank Brussels Lambert, and JP Morgan. He holds a BS in Finance from MIT and an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School.
